Fall at the Farmers Market
Through Saturday, October 17, 9 am -2 pm, corner of NW Cornell and Murray Roads

Happy start of Fall, Cedar Mill! As the weather starts to cool down, the Farmers Market continues to blaze on! We have a completely full market all the way through to our last day, October 17.
This September, be sure to stock up on your winter squash to last you through those cold months. We’ve also got apples galore for applesauce, cider, or a yummy crisp! And we still have fresh heirloom tomatoes for sauces, and potatoes for hearty, warm, stews! While you’re doing your grocery shopping, grab a hot chai, a fresh brewed pour-over coffee, or some warm kettle corn, popped right in front of you! We’re thrilled to share a fun fall season with you!
We’d love help setting up the Farmers Market in the morning at 6:30 am! If you are an early riser, want to be the first to shop at the market, and are looking to help your community, send us an email to [email protected]. We take SNAP/EBT at the market and with our Double Up Food Bucks program we can match up to $20 a day of SNAP currency! Read more at our website, CMFM.org. Come on down to the market every Saturday rain or shine!
Remodel to achieve your Forever Home

When their kids moved out, one Cedar Mill couple didn’t downsize, they doubled down on the home they already loved, remodeling it into a space built to grow old in. PDX Remodeling & Design recently completed their whole-home renovation spanning the kitchen, living room, two bathrooms, and three bedrooms, redesigned around comfort, accessibility, and long-term livability.
The kitchen is now the heart of the home, featuring white shaker cabinetry, quartz countertops, a herringbone tile backsplash, and a reclaimed-wood ceiling beam anchoring an open, light-filled layout where a new skylight keeps the space bright throughout the day. In the living room, a bold tiled fireplace surround and custom built-in shelving create a cozy, modern focal point, while wide-plank engineered hardwood flooring ties the spaces together.

Beyond the visible upgrades, the remodel was designed with aging in place at its core, giving the homeowners a home they can comfortably live in for decades to come—proof that a forever home doesn’t mean compromising on style.

Cornell Farm’s Century Farm Celebration
Saturday, September 12, 8212 SW Barnes Rd, 1-5 pm, free
Cornell Farm is proud to announce that 2026 marks 100 years of stewarding this special place. As the area has grown and transformed, we remain a family-owned and -operated working farm, first as a goat dairy, then growing strawberries, then growing trees and shrubs until eventually becoming a full-scale retail nursery with our historic farmhouse converted into a cafe.
We still grow over 700 varieties of plants in our on-site greenhouses but also welcome tens of thousands of visitors a year to explore Oregon-grown plants, eat farm-to-table brunch fare, and enjoy our slice of paradise overlooking the Tualatin Valley. Official recognition as an Oregon Century Farm comes at the Oregon State Fair later this month and, to celebrate, the entire community is invited to an afternoon of live music, free refreshments, local history, and baby goats at our Century Farm Celebration!
The Fraud Clock is Ticking
At Sunset Credit Union, we’re seeing an uptick in fraud and our members report that it’s coming from every direction: text, email and phone calls. Now with the proliferation of AI, the messages look increasingly like they are coming from a trusted source. What can you do? Monitor your accounts, set up credit and debit alerts on your phone (there’s usually an app for that), and if you see an unauthorized transaction, call your financial institution as soon as possible.
Let’s talk about those unauthorized transactions for a minute. The primary funds movement with direct access to your account happens through the following: debit card transactions, EFT (electronic funds transfer, also sometimes referred to as ACH), and Share Drafts (checks). Credit cards are a bit different because they are not directly tied to your account like a debit card is. As for the above-mentioned methods of funds movement, each of them has their own ticking clock to dispute charges, which makes it more urgent that you are regularly monitoring your account so that you don’t get stuck paying for the charges.
Use the following as a rough guideline: Share Drafts (checks): There is a 24-hour window to return checks for fraud, counterfeit, stop pay, or any other non-fraud reason. After that window passes, returning a check becomes more difficult depending on the type of fraud; Electronic Funds Transfers (ACH): Unauthorized transactions and blatantly fraudulent transactions generally have a 45–60-day window and under almost ALL circumstances will require an affidavit signed by you, which should be provided to you. Without a signed affidavit a transaction cannot be reversed as unauthorized or fraudulent; Debit Cards: There is a 60-day window to process a dispute for fraud or unauthorized charges to your debit card. In this case, you will also have to fill out paperwork to dispute the charge. Every financial institution has their own version that they will supply to you.
These are only rough guidelines, and each circumstance is different. Therefore, the timing can vary depending on whether the transaction is fraudulent, and if it is, the type of fraud. Best practice is to monitor your accounts through your bank’s online banking site or mobile app, and if you see a transaction you don’t recognize, try calling the vendor to see if they can explain the charge, and if that doesn’t work, call your financial institution.

When life gets hectic and you don’t have time to cook, Market of Choice’s made-from-scratch meals offer an easy, affordable alternative.

Also, according to Amanda, the culinary team has different backgrounds and experience with dietary requirements, “so when we’re brainstorming menu ideas, we come up with options that are inclusive, kid-friendly and some that avoid common allergens such as milk, nuts and wheat.”
Supper Club meals are made from scratch by in-store chefs using local products and fresh, seasonal ingredients whenever possible.Check out the menu and place your order three days in advance of your scheduled in-store pickup time.
