Razer has unveiled the Prio, a new foldable gaming controller for smartphones that folds down to about the size of a credit card. Unlike the manufacturer’s well-known Kishi series, the Prio is designed for compactness without compromising on functionality.
Full-featured gamepad layout in pocket-sized format
When folded, the Razer Prio measures just 107 x 67 x 23 millimeters and weighs only 101 g. A single twist is all it takes to open the controller and transform it into a full-featured gamepad that can accommodate smartphones with display sizes of up to 7 inches—including large models such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max or the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Despite its compact dimensions, the Prio offers a full console layout with analog sticks, a 4-way directional pad, action buttons, shoulder buttons, and triggers. The analog sticks use capacitive sensors instead of physical ones, which, according to Razer, is designed to reduce wear and stick drift.
No pairing, no built-in battery
The Prio does not have a separate battery and is instead powered directly via USB-C from the smartphone, which also enables a low-latency connection. This completely eliminates the need for Bluetooth pairing. According to Razer, the controller also fits most thin and medium-sized phone cases, so there’s no need to remove them while gaming.
It supports iPhones running iOS 18 and Android devices running version 14 or higher, both for local gaming and for cloud and remote play services such as Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam Link, PS Remote Play, and Razer PC Remote Play. A dedicated Razer Cortex Mobile button also provides direct access to your game library.
First model in a new controller series
Razer positions the Prio as a solution for on-the-go gaming—such as during your commute, while waiting, or between classes—and aims to solve one of the biggest problems with mobile gamepads: their bulkiness compared to the smartphone itself. The Prio is the first model in a new line of ultraportable controllers from Razer. The manufacturer has not yet provided any details on price or availability.
