Small businesses in Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties impacted by flooding and severe weather can apply for grants of up to $10,000 through a new relief program.
The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will administer the program, which received $100,000 from the Duke Energy Foundation. The grants, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, are available to businesses with 50 or fewer employees inBoone, Campbell, or Kenton counties that are also Duke Energy customers.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our communities and helping them recover from unexpected extreme weather events like the recent flooding and derecho is essential to our region’s long-term viability,” Duke Energy Ohio & Kentucky President Amy Spiller said in a news release. “Through our partnership with the NKY Chamber, we are providing meaningful support to local business owners as they recover, grow their operations and continue creating jobs and economic opportunity across Northern Kentucky.”
The money can be used to reimburse past expenses or fund future business needs. Eligible uses include improvements to physical spaces, technology for online sales, equipment or modifications to expand services, storefront improvements, and workforce-related expenses such as recruiting, job postings, or employee training.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of NKY Chamber staff and board members. Recipients are expected to be notified in mid-September.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16. Small business owners can apply through the NKY Chamber’s website.
