PHILLIPS COUNTY, Ark. (KATV) — Kara Harvey, a 44-year-old clerk for the Phillips County Judge’s Office, has been charged with Theft of Property and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card or Debit Card.
In August 2025, first Judicial District Prosecutor Todd Murray requested that the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation look into the theft or misuse of a Phillips County credit card.
Following the investigation and an audit conducted by the Arkansas Legislative Audit, it was revealed that Harvey had made unallowable purchases, including 84 gift cards and prepaid cards, totaling $16,642.
Harvey surrendered to the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office on August 20, and was served with a warrant and released on her own recognizance.
This is an ongoing investigation and more details will be released as they become available.
