The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday the arrest of a woman for forgery and financial credit card theft.On June 29, deputies with ACSO responded to a forgery in progress after a woman attempted to deposit two fraudulent checks at a bank on South Main Street in Anderson, South Carolina. The bank realized this was not the woman’s first attempt at deception.According to deputies, 39-year-old Brandy Swindler of Anderson County managed to swindle thousands of dollars by using stolen checks and making them out to herself before depositing them. Swindler has committed similar financial crimes in the past.Detectives arrested Swindler with six counts of forgery and financial credit card theft after she stole checks and tried to get away with the money.After detectives searched Swindler, a stolen checkbook was found, along with at least four stolen credit cards on her.Swindler was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center.
