Two businesses held grand openings this week in Columbia, and one store that opened in April is trying to gain traction.
Marcos Pizza
Marcos Pizza has officially been introduced to the Columbia community.
The grand opening was held on Aug. 31, and the restaurant is located at 911 Rainforest Parkway.
Store owner Klayton Anderson explained what the new location will offer.
“Fresh produce, great service and great people,” Anderson said.
Their dough is made fresh daily, and the pizzeria cuts their vegetables in-house.
“All of this is controlled by us, and I think our product is better than any other pizza place in town,” Anderson said.
From Sunday through Thursday, the store is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. From Friday through Saturday the store is open from 10 a.m. to midnight.
The Fifth Season
The Fifth Season had its grand opening Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The store sells home and seasonal decor, as well as party supplies, according to previous reporting.
The Fifth Season is located in Broadway Shopping Center, 1729 W. Broadway, Suite 4.
The Plant Shop
The Plant Shop (TPS) opened in Columbia Mall on April 18, and is located in the JC Penny wing of the shopping center.
The shop sells a variety of plants, including both hard-to-find and starter plants.
It also hosts an array of social events such as plant bingo, workshops and a plant swap, all held at the store.
“We always wanted a place where our community can come together and get hands-on experience with plants as well as learn about them,” employee and TPS Chief Marketing Officer Crystal Martin said.
The shop is open Thursday through Sunday and has different hours from Columbia Mall.
- Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
