After the Diamondbacks’ advancement to the World Series, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office warned people about scammers.
The office said that with big events, like the World Series, the state’s consumer protection officials often see a rise in scams.
“As Arizonans cheer on Diamondbacks as they head to the World Series, remember to safeguard yourself against curveballs that scam artists may throw your way,” said Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes. “Whether you’re purchasing tickets or looking for a place to stay, always remember to step up to the plate with caution. Your vigilance is the best defense against falling victim to fraudsters.”
The scams could include being fake tickets or selling the same ticket multiple times. People could also encounter scammers when traveling to metro Phoenix and seeking a place to stay.
