are giving new cardholders the opportunity to earn thousands of dollars in rewards for meeting minimum spending requirements on their cards. Let’s take a look at what’s on the table.
Capital One Venture X Business Card welcome bonus and benefits
The Capital One Venture X Business Card is a premium charge card with no preset spending limit, aimed at business owners who want travel rewards and perks. Although it charges a $395 annual fee, it makes up for it with a travel credit, anniversary bonus and — of course — a welcome offer that’ll make competitors weep:
- Earn 150,000 miles after spending $20,000 in the first three months and an additional 150,000 miles after spending $100,000 in the first six months of account opening.
Along with this limited-time increased welcome offer, the card offers many perks:
- Earn 10 miles per $1 on hotels and rental cars booked via Capital One Travel, 5 miles per $1 on flights booked via Capital One Travel, 2 miles per $1 on other eligible purchases.
- A $300 annual travel credit for bookings through Capital One Travel.
- A 10,000-mile anniversary bonus.
- Up to a $100 TSA PreCheck/Global Entry application fee credit.
- Airport lounge access.
- Travel insurance.
- Shopping protections.
- No foreign transaction fees.
The ability to earn up to 300,000 Capital One miles is jaw-dropping. Although you’ll need to put a significant amount of spend on the card to qualify for this offer, the flexibility of Capital One miles makes this offer very compelling.
For example, transfer partner Wyndham has a lucrative partnership with vacation rental company Vacasa. You’ll pay just 15,000 points per bedroom, per night for your stay, which means in theory it’s possible to turn that welcome offer into a full 20 nights in a vacation home if you’d like.
Capital One Spark Cash Plus welcome bonus and benefits
If you’d prefer to earn cash back rather than miles, the Capital One Spark 2% Cash Plus

is also offering an increased welcome bonus.
- Earn a $1,500 cash bonus after spending $20,000 in the first three months and an additional $1,500 cash bonus after spending $100,000 in the first six months of account opening.
This card is a good option for those looking to earn no-fuss cash back on their purchases, with the ability to earn ongoing rewards to the tune of 2% cash back on every purchase and 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.
Although it charges an annual fee of $150, the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card doesn’t offer a ton in perks. Happily, those who spend at least $150,000 in a card year get that full fee refunded, which could be compelling to big spenders.
Like the Capital One Venture X Business Card, the Capital One Spark Cash Plus offers extended warranty protection*. It also waives any foreign transaction fees, making this a good option for purchases abroad.
Note that this is a charge card. That means while you don’t have a preset spending limit, you must pay your balance off in full every month or face a late fee.
Final verdict
Two of Capital One’s business cards are offering increased welcome bonuses for a limited time. Although these offers require hefty amounts of spending, they’ll reward those who can make it work. Whether you’re interested in earning miles or cash back, now’s an excellent time to apply for a new Capital One business card.
