A doctor at a Media pediatrics clinic has been charged with stealing a co-worker’s credit cards from a purse in the physician’s lunchroom.

According to the Media police, the theft occurred Oct. 20 at Nemours Children’s Health, Media, 295 E. Baltimore Ave.
Investigators gave this account:
Media police were called Oct. 24 just after 1 p.m. for a report of a theft of credit cards. Sgt. Richard Leicht met with the victim, who said someone had taken credit cards from her wallet and the victim believed the theft occurred in the office.
She had used her credit cards Oct. 19 and 20, then had brought her purse and wallet with credit cards into the physicians lunchroom. The next day the victim realized her Chase credit card and Wells Fargo debit card were missing from her wallet.
She checked her Chase account activity and noticed purchases made at Lowe’s and Ulta that were not by her, and at that point realized her credit cards were stolen.
No activity had been made on her debit card and no other cards or items were missing from the wallet and no fraudulent activity has been noted on any other cards.
The victim told police she did not give authorization to anyone to use her credit cards.
Contacting the credit card company, police determined that shortly after 4 p.m. on Oct. 20 a $590.35 purchase was made at Lowe’s in Brookhaven and then at 5:39 p.m. a purchases of $544.59 was made at Springfield Ulta store.
Media police obtained video surveillance from the Lowe’s and observed a white Mercedes SUV enter the parking lot of Lowe’s shortly after 3 p.m. on the 20th.
A female with black hair, sunglasses, light blue surgical mask, blue nursing scrubs got out of the Mercedes and entered the store. The subject later identified as Sukhavasi.
She was also observed without the sunglasses and the mask was slightly lowered revealing enough of her face for identification.
While examining the Lowe’s surveillance video, police noticed the shoes worn by the suspect were tan without a noticeable heal (flats). A photograph provided by Dupont Nemours shows Sukhavasi in the office the day of the card theft. Sukhavasi is seen wearing the same tan flats.
Sukhavasi was observed numerous time throughout the video shopping for home supplies.
She then approached the checkout with two carts full of supplies. An employee assisted with pushing her carts and scanning the items.
Sukhavasi is then observed placing the stolen credit card into the card reader to finalize the purchase. The employee then helped Sukhavasi push the cart to her Mercedes and place all the items into her SUV. Sukhavasi enters the SUV and leaves shortly after 4 p.m.
Police also secured video surveillance from Ulta where Sukhavasi is again observed using the stolen credit card to purchase items.
A photograph of Sukhavasi carrying the stolen items shows the time of 5:49 p.m., shows her wearing the same white blouse with dark polka dots, black slacks and tan shoes. The image is identical to the photograph provided by Dupont Nemours.
There was no listing for her Wednesday under a Nemours search webpage for physicians.
