Eugene School District 4J Finance Director Matt Brown resigned Friday, Aug. 28, after filing a tort claim alleging that the district retaliated against him amid its ongoing budget crisis.

According to an official with the district, in the weeks since Brown’s resignation, Associate Finance Director Bob Blyth has been serving as acting finance director.
