For customers looking for a credit union for their banking needs, the Financial Resources Federal Credit Union (FRFCU) could be an excellent choice. Financial Resources is headquartered in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and has been in business for over 100 years. It was formerly the Ethicon Employees FCU. The credit union has more than 26,000 members nationwide with more than $600 million in assets. FGFCU has seven branch locations, all in New Jersey.

Cons
- With branch locations only in New Jersey, in-person banking is not available to most customers.

Who is Financial Resources FCU good for?
Financial Resources FCU could be a great choice for customers looking for a credit union for their financial product and service needs instead of a bank. Since you can join the credit union by first joining the ACC, it is an excellent option for customers nationwide wanting online-only bank accounts. If you live in New Jersey and prefer in-person banking, FRFCU could be a decent option.
Since it is a credit union, you may find better rates on CDs than with many banks. FRFCU also offers rate discounts with certain lending products for credit union members. Finally, the credit union offers a large selection of banking products and services, which allows you to pick the products that best meet your needs.
Who shouldn’t use Financial Resources FCU?
If you prefer in-person banking and live outside of New Jersey, FRFCU isn’t the right option for you. Unless you meet one of the employment or residency membership requirements, you must join the ACC before joining the FRFCU, which is an extra step in the process.
Finally, while the credit union offers solid APY earnings on its highest-yield savings accounts, you may find higher rates at some online banks and financial technology companies (fintechs).
