WASHINGTON CITY, Utah (KUTV) — Wendy Bulkley and Cindy Powell are dialing in their putts before hitting the golf course at Green Springs.
Their goal is to bring more women into the golf game through their nonprofit “GolfHER.”
According to their website, GolfHER’s mission is to “bridge the gender gap in business networking by empowering professional women to participate confidently in golf, the unofficial language of business.”
“We provide a supportive environment where businesswomen can learn, practice, and master both the game of golf and the art of business relationship building that happens on the course,” their mission statement continues.
“You can make deals in a conference room all day long, but the most organic, best deals are going to be those made on the golf course,” Powell said.
Many women don’t have a seat at the table, and golf is not cheap. But Powell said they wanted to remove that barrier, and so they created a network of female golfers.

“We need to have women feel comfortable and be able to be on the course so that they can be part of that business conversation,” Powell said.
“You need to have access to that part of business, and a lot of women don’t,” Bulkley added.
But that’s all changing thanks to GolfHER.
Powell said that golf has helped her jump the career ladder, close deals, and help raise funds for Utah Tech and Washington County.
