Starfield is one of the biggest games of all time, and playing through it can often be an expensive endeavor. It’s packed with weapons, spacesuits, and armor to buy. And sometimes, you can find yourself a little down on your luck in the credits department. You can be an honest, hard-working spacefarer or a menace to society, robbing everyone in sight. But what if there was a way to get endless credits? If you don’t mind heading to the dark side, here’s how to get infinite Money in Starfield.
How to Get Infinite Money in Starfield
There are several different ways to get infinite credits in Starfield:
Get Infinite Money Using Console Commands
Not everyone likes shortcuts in gaming, but in Bethesda games, it usually makes the playing experience all the better. If you’re on PC, you have the ability to pull up the command menu at any time and load up on some not-so-hard-earned credits.
To do this, press the ~ button on your keyboard. This will bring up the command menu. Once it’s up, type in player.additem 0000000f #. The pound sign should be replaced by the amount of money you’re looking to gain.
For example, if you want to add 200,000 credits, type player.additem 0000000f 200000 and hit enter. Be sure to remember the space after “f,” or else it won’t work. This option is accessible at any time and ruins the challenge of gaining credits, so be wary that you’re going to be making Starfield a whole lot easier with this method. You can also use console commands on Xbox to get infinite money, but there’s a catch.
Get More Credits Using Glitches/Exploits
If you’re exclusively on console and don’t have the game on PC, the command menu won’t be available to you. With that in mind, you’ll have to think outside the box a little bit to achieve infinite wealth. Luckily, we have some pretty bizarre ways to stack up on cash in a hurry.
The Akila City Puddle Exploit is a great way to earn endless credits fast. It lets you access chests that are used to restock a general store in Akila City.
To do the exploit/glitch, head over to Shepard’s General Store, and you’ll find the puddle to the left of the store. Sneak near it, and you’ll be able to loot the chest. This isn’t direct money all the time, but the absurd amount of goods that can be stolen and sold from this puddle will surely get you rich in a hurry.
Use Starfield Mods
Mods are always a Bethesda game’s best friend, and Starfield is no exception. The mods are numerous already, but one of the most useful is Unlimited Traders. This mod will give store owners constantly refreshing money. This means that you can steal it from them if you so choose.
You’ll need to invest a bit in stealth if you want this to work out for you, but it’s a solid option to make sure your credits don’t run dry.

Get Infinite Money the Old-Fashioned Way
What if you don’t want to use the command menu because it disables achievements, or you don’t want to use a glitch that was clearly left in as a developer oversight? Then it’s time to up those sleeves and start robbing innocents. I’m not suggesting you mug every NPC in the game, although that’s one way to go about it.
Instead, aim for the big fish — the starships. Starfield is littered with random starship encounters throughout the game. You generally find them by manually selecting your destinations while on your ship. That means you’ll need to take off from a planet and select the destination in space. Otherwise, you won’t have random encounters.
These random encounters can vary wildly, but the common theme is the option to take the ship for your own. If you’re in a battle, aim for the engines on the starship until the ship stops moving. Then board the ship, kill the enemies, and take the ship for your own. This method will net you countless credits, as you can sell the ship directly afterward. This goes for any ship in the game, granted you have the correct piloting license to pilot it. If not, you’ll not be able to steal it and will just have to settle with looting and destroying it instead.
Trading ships to places like The Key or The Den is a great way to maintain infinite money, as Starfield doesn’t run out of encounters like this. If you’re feeling brave, try to steal some of the ships surrounding New Atlantis, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
That’s everything there is to know about how to get infinite money in Starfield. It can be expensive to travel the stars, so try out some of these options to beef up that income a bit. For other fun tricks and cool tips, check out our Starfield guides.
