Upgrading Burgage Plots is a far more reliable way to gain Regional Wealth. Level 2 Burgage Plots generate one Regional Wealth per family, per month. Level 3 Burgage Plots generate two Regional Wealth per family, per month. Burgage Plots with living space expansions may host two families at level 2 and four at level 3, so you can get a maximum of eight Regional Wealth per level 3 Burgage Plot.
How to Get Money Through Trade
Here’s how to make money through trade in Manor Lords:
- Don’t worry about money at the start of a new game. For now, you simply need resources for your region’s personal use.
- Once you’ve built a village with a Logging Camp, Woodcutter’s Camp, Hunting Camp, Forager Hut, Storehouse, Granary, and plenty of Burgage Plots (try to get at least two “spare” Burgage Plots so new villagers may move in), it’s time to place a Trading Post. Find it under the “trade” tab in the construction menu.
- You can now export any excess goods, such as planks, hides, or berries. If you open the trade menu, you’ll find the export and import costs on the right side of the menu (export on the left, import on the right). You can change the product’s status to “export” on the left side, in the drop-down menu. Enter the number of goods you wish to keep in the middle; this is the desired surplus (if you have 34 hides and a desired surplus of 20, no more than 14 hides will be sold).
Keep in mind that selling end products generates more Regional Wealth than selling resources. For example, hides fetch 4 Regional Wealth, but leather fetches 6 Regional Wealth. Turn the leather into shoes, and it’ll yield 8 Regional Wealth. There’s nothing wrong with selling basic resources in early game, but eventually, try to switch to end products instead.
How to Get Money – Treasury
If you want to hire mercenaries or create a new Settler’s Camp, you’ll need Treasury funds instead of Regional Wealth. Treasury is basically money from your Regional Wealth converted to Treasury through taxes. If you build a Manor, you can open the “taxes” menu and enter a percentage for “land tax”. Every month, a portion of your Regional Wealth will be converted to Treasury.
