North Carolina man broke into multiple vehicles, then stole, used credit cards, deputies say

Detectives with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday they charged Aaron Jamal Rice, 24, of Asheville, with breaking into multiple vehicles in the Candler area, stealing financial cards and using those cards to commit fraud.
Investigators said they worked with victims, local businesses and the Asheville Police Department during this investigation.

During a search of Rice’s hotel room, deputies found stolen items from multiple victims, officials said.
They said Rice faces 18 charges, including:
- Three counts of breaking and entering Motor Vehicle with Theft
- Three counts of Financial Card Theft
- Three counts of Obtain Property by False Pretense
- Three counts of Identity Theft
- Three counts of Financial Card Fraud
- Two counts of Possession of Stolen Property
- One count of Resist Delay Obstruct
