(KRON) — A person in possession of a credit card skimming device was arrested Wednesday after police were alerted to suspicious activity at a Larkspur gas station, according to the Central Marin Police Authority.
Police officers responded to Marin Gas, located at 600 Magnolia Avenue, on the evening of Jan. 17 and contacted the individual who was suspected of criminal activity. The person was found to be under probation for theft-related crimes in Contra Costa County, and a search uncovered numerous gift cards, burglary tools and a skimming device capable of obtaining information from the magnetic strip of credit cards, authorities said.
The suspect’s truck bed had four large containers of gasoline in it, according to police.
The suspect was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for grand theft, possession of burglary tools, and unlawful possession of a scanning device. The truck was towed and stored as evidence, police said.
