A statewide operation targeting credit card skimmers has recovered three skimming devices.
Attorney General Lynn Fitch says ‘Operation Stronghold’ ran from July 31 through August 27. Investigators inspected more than 421 businesses and nearly 2,150 point-of-sale terminals across the state.
The three devices recovered bring the total number of skimmers found in Mississippi during 2026 and 2026 to 56.
Officials estimate each device could represent about one million dollars in potential fraud losses.
The operation focused in part on preventing the theft of SNAP and EBT benefits.
