A community member thanked local deputies after an investigation into a family member’s small business led to the recovery of essential equipment, the discovery of thousands of dollars in unauthorized transactions and an arrest.
The investigation began after an employee failed to return essential business equipment and was suspected of making unauthorized transactions with a company credit card. Deputies recovered the equipment the same day, identified more than $5,000 in unauthorized transactions, gathered evidence connecting the suspect to the activity and made an arrest.
The suspect, 30-year-old Bryan Osorio-Sermeno, was booked on a felony charge of embezzlement of more than $5,000 and an additional charge of driving with a revoked license. He was also arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
In sharing their appreciation, the community member said the deputies’ efforts “truly meant so much to our family during a stressful situation.”
